Christmas & New Years Katz

Buddy and Sophie holding paws. Awwww!

On New Years Eve Buddy had his first brushing. He was a little jumpy that night, so I was surprised that he enjoyed it as much as he did.

Buddy loved exploring under the Christmas Tree.

Kitties love each other.

Needless to say, I am a bit nutty about cats. I share this obsession with my 13 year old and my husband. We are always taking funny pictures of our cats (we think they are funny anyway).

This is "Crabbie."  No, she's not actually crabby. She was named after the crab that we fed her to lure her in. Unbeknownst to us, the girl was a pregnant teen. So we had to nurse her babies until they were old enough to give away. But my oldest daughter loved it, who was in 4th grade at the time. Her and her friend will forever have awesome memories of those kitties.

I love catching her in these awkward positions.

This is Daisy. Nothing much impresses her. She's not allowed in my bedroom because when Crabbie came along, she started pooping in my closet.

This is Daisy and Crabbie. They kind of hate each other, but they tolerate each other.

Meet "Phuzz."  This little kitty wasn't with us for long, but he was very much loved while he was here.
He especially had a special bond with my hubby. At only 4 months we found out he has FIV, a terminal illness. It was very sad, but he taught us how much joy cats can bring into a home.

Phuzz inspired us to adopt a pair of cats. The dark cat is Sophie and the tabby is Buddy, who the shelter had named "Callie." But he's a boy, so that didn't stick. These cats were under 2 when we got them.

I fell in love with Sophie right away. She was so fluffy and pretty. Her eyes are huge and green. Plus she was very loving. My hubby didn't even want to get her at first, but now they are buds. She climbs up on his lap every evening for pets.

Buddy is definitely the Alpha cat. He is always on guard for strange noises and he loves to jump out of the bathroom window to explore. I love this cat. He's awesome. He loves to lay in my lap, make dough and give me kisses.

Buddy likes to clean Sophie. They used to sleep together in the shelter, so it was only natural to keep them together.

Not everyone is a cat fan. But to those, my daughter would say this:
